This specimen was lot 74026 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. Real, 1775-So DA. Santiago Mint. Charles III. PCGS FINE-15. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck at Santiago in moderate numbers 1773-89. The one reales of Charles III are scarcer than the half and two reales. This example sold for four times the catalog value.
Recorded mintage: 27,000, a better date.
