This specimen was lot 55010 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. 5 Cents, 1945. London Mint. George VI. NGC PROOF-64." This type exists dated 1944 and 1945. The SCWC comments, "The date was frozen at 1945 and these coins were struck until 1962." Ceylon attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.
