This specimen was part of lot 51211 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Specimen Set (6 Pieces), 1970. Ottawa Mint. Elizabeth II. All PCGS Certified. Mintage: 100. 1) Dollar. PCGS SPECIMEN-67. KM-78. Manitoba commemorative. 2) 50 Cents. PCGS SPECIMEN-68. KM-75. 3) 25 Cents. PCGS SPECIMEN-68. KM-62B. 4) 10 Cents. PCGS SPECIMEN-67. KM-77. 5) 5 Cents. PCGS SPECIMEN-67. KM-60.1. 6) Cent. PCGS SPECIMEN-68 Red. KM-59. Ex: Eric Beckman Collection." While the specimens are scarce, the circulation strikes and prooflike strikes are very common. The dollar commemorated the centennial of Manitoba. This type was issued 1965-77. Billions were struck.
