Canada 1936 25 cents
This specimen was lot 30194 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 25 Cents 1936 Dot MS61 PCGS, Dot below wreath variety. A wonderful example with silvery patina and amber highlights surrounding the legends. This always popular variety has a small dot below the reverse wreath, signifying that the piece was struck in 1937 under the reign of Edward VIII." This type was struck 1920-36 and is common in circulated condition. Earlier dates (1912-19, KM 24) were made from 0.925 fine silver. The 1936 with dot is distinctly scarce.
