Goldberg sale 74, lot 4271

This specimen was lot 4271 in Goldberg sale 74 (Los Angeles, June 2013), where it sold for $1,035. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada. 25 Cents, 1934. King George V. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated with beautiful multi-color toning; the obverse with golden russet, electric blue and violet hues about the periphery; the reverse stunning in its overall iridescence. A gorgeous specimen and rare this nice. NGC graded MS-64." This type was struck 1920-36 and is common in circulated condition. Earlier dates (1912-19, KM 24) were made from 0.925 fine silver. This is a somewhat better date.

Specification: 5.83 g, 0.800 fine silver, .150 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter, designed by E. B. MacKennal.
