Heritage sale 3026, part of lot 26728

This specimen was part of lot 26728 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), which sold for $89. The catalog description[1] noted, "A Quartet of Minors 1887-1920, lot includes (1) Cent of Victoria, (2) Cents of George V and a token from Montreal. Grades vary from AU to UNC." This type, struck at Ottawa 1912-20, is common in all grades tho the 1914 is scarce. In 1920, the cent reduced to approximately the size of the United States small cent and struck in that form until 1997, when the zinc cent was introduced.

Recorded mintage: 6,762,247 large cents plus 15,483,923 small cents.

Specification: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
