This specimen was lot 33533 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), which sold for $276. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada: Edward VII Specimen 25 Cents 1908 SP63 Matte NGC, Ottawa mint Gold, blue, and argent-gray toning, with bold definition. Minor contact marks, and a few spots, are noted." This type was struck 1902-1910 at the London and Heaton mints. All the dates are rare in high grade.
Recorded mintage: 495,016, a slightly better date.
Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
