This specimen is a common date of a type struck in London and Birmingham for Canada 1858 and 1870-1901. This specimen was lot 34479 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $588. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 5 Cents, 1891. PCGS MS-64. Toned."
Recorded mintage: 1,800,000.
Specification: 1.16 grams, 0.925 fine silver, 25.4 mm diameter, reeded edge.
