This specimen was lot 73268 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 1000 Leva, 1995. Sofia Mint. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the F.A.O. This beautifully mirrored example displays some wonderful frost on the device, netting an enchanting cameo nature." This NCLT was struck after the fall of communism but before the currency was reformed (1000 old leva = 1 new lev). Other thousand leva for 1995 include KM 215 (Olympics), KM 216 (E. Rumelia) and KM 217 (observatory).
