This specimen was lot 74412 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 2 Leva, 1925. Brussels Mint. Boris III. NGC AU-58." In 1925, Bulgaria, shorn of territory by the treaty of Versailles, was riven by struggles between the communists and the military establishment. This one year type was struck at Brussels (shown here) and Poissy, France. The king, Boris III, chose the Axis side during World War Two and was deposed by the Communists in 1943 as the Soviet army approached.

Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 from Brussels plus 20,000,124 from Poissy.

Specification: 4.97 g, copper-nickel, 22.95 mm diameter.
