This specimen was lot 1093 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "ARGENTINA (Buenos Aires), copper 2 reales, 1854, NGC MS 63 RB, finest and only example in NGC census. Light red color all over with lovely muted luster, fiber strike-through in BU of BUENOS probably related to a natural flaw on A of REALES on other side, very rare grade for this issue." This type was struck 1853-56 and is common in low grade. The next issue (KM 11) of 1860-61 closed out the series of coppers from Buenos Aires. Regular federal coinage began in 1882.
