This specimen was lot 1094 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$534 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Wolfenbüttel, Herzogtum, Heinrich Julius, 1589-1613 Taler 1596. Goslar Lügentaler. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Germany, Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Henry Julius (1589-1613), thaler of 1596, Goslar mint, the "lying" thaler, very fine or better.)"
This type, called the "lying" thaler, was issued 1596-97 and is fairly common for the period. A very similar thaler (Dav-9089), has the date below the angel on the reverse.
