Künker Auction 426, lot 3470

This specimen was lot 3470 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$5,098 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Heinrich der Jüngere, 1514-1568. Taler 1535, Riechenberg. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Hübsche alte Patina, winz. Schrötlingsrisse am Rand, vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Henry the Younger, 1514-68, thaler of 1535, Riechenberg mint. Scarce in this quality, superb patina, planchet crack on the edge, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1534-39 along with Dav-5040 (bust obverse).
