Künker Auction 425, lot 2123

This specimen was lot 2123 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €11,000 (about US$15,576 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Anton Ulrich, 1704-1714. 1 1/2facher Reichstaler o. J. (1710), Zellerfeld, auf seinen Übertritt zur katholischen Kirche. ANTONIUS ULRIC : - D : G : DUX Ü BR : ET LUNEB : Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit umgelegtem Mantel//SEMPER IDEM Fels im Meer, im Abschnitt: CONSTANTER. Von großer Seltenheit. Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 180, Berlin 2011, Nr. 113; der Sammlung Friedrich Popken, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 308, Osnabrück 2018, Nr. 2133 und der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 361, Osnabrück 2022, Nr. 186. This commemorative was struck using the dies from a thaler (KM 706/Dav-2121). The double thaler struck on this occasion (KM 708) used a different design.
