This specimen was lot 1136 in Jean Elsen sale 159 (Brussels, June 2024), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,825 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, BRUNSWICK-CALENBERG, Johann Friedrich (1665-1679), AR 1 1/2 Taler, 1672, Clausthal. Frappé avec l'argent des mines du Harz. D/ Monogramme couronné dans une couronne, entouré de quatorze écussons couronnés. R/ Cheval bondissant au-dessus de la mine, couronné par une main sortant d'un nuage. Belle patine. Très Beau à Superbe. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg, John Frederick, 1665-79, muled double thaler of 1672, Clausthal mint, for the Harz mines. Obverse: crowned monogram surrounded by fourteen crowns shields; reverse: a stallion leaps over a view of the mines, a hand issues from cloud with a laurel wreath. Nice patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type also comes with mintmaster's initials LW. It accompanied a double thaler (Dav-LS205).
