Künker sale 293, lot 639

This specimen was lot 639 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €380 (about US$512 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, HERZOGTUM Georg, 1636-1641. 1/2 Reichstaler 1637, Zellerfeld. RR Feine Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Koch, Auktion. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg, George, 1636-41, half thaler of 1637, Zellerfeld mint. Rare, fine toning, small edge defects, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1637-41, all with mintmaster HS.
