This specimen was lot 2254 in Goldberg sale 100 (Los Angeles, September 2017), where it sold for $669.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Virgin Islands. 250 Dollars, 2002. Elizabeth II. Reverse: Statue of Liberty and the date "11 Sept. 2001" Choice Brilliant Proof." This NCLT was issued in memory of the victims of the attacks in New York. In addition to this gold issue, there were also copper-nickel dollars (KM 207 and KM 210) and silver ten dollars (KM 208.1 and KM 211). We don't know if they were issued in sets.

Recorded mintage: 250 pieces.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, .500 troy oz AGW.
