British North Borneo 1921-H 5 cents

British North Borneo is today known as Sabah and is a state of Malaysia. In the nineteenth century, half cents and cents were issued for the colony from the Heaton Mint. Five cent pieces were issued in 1903-41 and are fairly common. This specimen was part of lot 22163 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $488.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Commonwealth Six Coin Grouping, ...5 Cents 1921...the rest are AU or UNC."
