British North Borneo is today known as Sabah and is a state of Malaysia. In the nineteenth century, half cents and cents were issued for the colony by the Heaton Mint. This specimen was lot 3623 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), where it sold for $82. The catalog description[1] noted, "North Borneo. ½ Cent, 1891-H. NGC graded MS-63 Red & Brown."

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000 plus proofs.
