The first specimen was lot 33620 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "George VI Proof Cent 1950 PR65 Red and Brown NGC. Ex-R.J. Ford Collection. An exquisite specimen with captivating color." This type was struck 1949-51 and is common. The country, long claimed by Guatemala, is now known as Belize. The issues of British Honduras are marked by their dull design; the reverse on this coin was used during the reigns of queen Victoria, kings Edward VII, George V, George VI and later queen Elizabeth II.
