Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3460

This specimen was lot 3460 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH HONDURAS: George VI, 1936-1952, AE cent, 1949, a wonderful example, PCGS graded MS64 RB, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." This type was struck 1949-51 and is common. The country, long claimed by Guatemala, is now known as Belize. The issues of British Honduras are marked by their dull design; the reverse on this coin was used during the reigns of queen Victoria, kings Edward VII, George V, George VI and later queen Elizabeth II.
