This specimen was lot 30690 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colony. Victoria 50 Cents 1895 MS63 PCGS. From a universally low mintage, and rarely encountered finer, this scarce issue features the prominent portrait of Queen Elizabeth centered on a champagne-toned planchet, bathed in cartwheel luster. A few minor marks account for the grade, however the overall appearance of this select representative absolutely pleases." This four year type is not rare in circulated condition but the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 36,000.
