This specimen was part of lot 26543 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $352.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic Lot of Eight Modern silver Coins, 3, 4, 5, Reais, and 10, 20, 200, 500, 2000 Cruzeiros issues. All coins choice UNC or Proof." This commemorative honored the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Brazil. The reform of 1994 finally stuck after twenty years of hyperinflation.
