This type was struck 1994-95, to be superseded by KM 651, struck starting in 1998. It was accompanied by KM 636 (1 real), KM 634 (25 centavos), KM 633 (10 centavos), KM 632 (5 centavos) and KM 631 (1 centavos). The reform of 1994 finally stuck after twenty years of hyperinflation. In July 2011, 1 Brazilian real = US$0.645. As of 3-27-21, US$1 = 5.75669 BRL.
