Shown is a thousand réis of the United States of Brazil, of a type struck 1912-13. It was accompanied by similar 500 réis (KM 506) and 2000 réis. The prior type, with a plain reverse, was also struck in 1912. The denomination was abolished in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.
Recorded mintage: 1,570,000 including KM 507.
Specification: 10 g, 0.900 fine silver, .289 troy oz ASW.
