Brazil 1821M 75 reis rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen was struck at the Minas Gerais mint in Brazil in 1818-21. This unusual denomination was the equivalent of the eighty réis which circulated elsewhere in Brazil. In Minas Gerais, a gold mining region, the standard silver coin was the 600 réis, not the 640 réis used elsewhere. There is also a scarce 75 réis from the Goias mint in 1823.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM 320.
