This specimen was lot 23850 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I & Pedro III gold 6400 Reis 1781-R, AU58 NGC. Well struck with radiant luster in the fields. From The RLM Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1777-86 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.
Recorded mintage: 375,000.
