This specimen was lot 285 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,993.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. 6,400 Reis (Peca), 1762-B. NGC AU-58. Jose I (1750-77)." The type was struck in Bahia and Rio 1751-77. The Bahia mint issues are generally scarcer than the Rio issues.
