This specimen was lot 23858 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brandenburg. Friedrich III Albertus Taler 1695-LCS, AU50 NGC, Magdeburg mint. Desirable gray toning. Note the initials 'F III' dominating the reverse design, a style which was normally found on French Ecus of the period. From The J.G. Collection." This type is listed only as "Rare."
