Brandenburg 1671-GF 1/3 thaler
This specimen was lot 316 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €460 (about US$620 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich Wilhelm, der Große Kurfürst, 1640-1688. 1/3 Taler 1671, GF, Krossen. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Feine Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick William, the Great Elector, 1640-88, one third thaler of 1671, Krossen mint. Scarce in this quality, fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1668-74, all with engraver's initals GF. The 1/3 thaler equaled half a gulden. Other 1/3 thalers for 1671 include KM-379 and KM-410 from other mints.
