This specimen was lot 22678 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brandenburg-Franconia. Goldgulden, 1498. Friedrich IV (1495-1521). PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder. John the Baptist holding lamb and book, dog's head at feet; Reverse: Short cross with shields in angles. Well struck with good definition of the fine details and nice full legends. Lightly toned and attractive." Friedberg lists this type for 1497-1515.
