Brandenburg-Franconia 1534 goldgulden Fr-308
This specimen was lot 3511 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,887 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN, Georg der Fromme, 1527-1536. Goldgulden 1534, Schwabach. GOLD. RR Feilspuren am Rand, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 18, Osnabrück 1990, Nr. 1252 und der Auktion Adolph Hess 262, Zürich 1993, Nr. 118. (Brandenburg-Franconia, George the Pious, 1527-36, goldgulden of 1534, Schwabach mint. Rare, edge tooled, very fine.)"
This is the only gold coin of this ruler, struck 1528-35, and is fairly scarce.
