This specimen was lot 1807 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $190.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRANDENBURG-ANSBACH: Alexander, 1757-1791, AR thaler, 1768, initials G//S-KK, lightly cleaned, some luster, two-year type, VF to EF." This type was issued 1768 only and is listed as rather scarce. It comes not from the Electorate of Brandenburg (later the Kingdom of Prussia) but from Brandenburg-Ansbach, a Hohenzollern enclave west of Bavaria and neighboring Nuremburg.
