Kunker sale 293, lot 270

This specimen was lot 270 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €300 (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN. Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander, 1757-1791. Reichstaler preuß. 1757, Schwabach. Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 4607. Sehr schön. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, 1757-91, Prussian thaler of 1757, Schwabach mint. Very fine.)"

Thalers struck to the Prussian standard were lighter and lower in fineness than convention thalers.
