After the Spanish Fury and the Pacification of Ghent, all the Low Countries were reunited in their oppostion to Spanish government. In 1577 and 1578, the States General ordered the striking of double and single florins and quarter, half and one écus with the bust and titles of Philip II to avoid directly attacking the king. The hand mintmark is to the right of the crown, not the left. Corroded surfaces are common on old copper coins. The gigot was half a liard.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: gold, this specimen is 3,24 g.
