This specimen was lot 42400 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Bombay Presidency. 1/4 Anna, AH 1246/1830. Bombay Mint. NGC PROOF-62 Brown. Variety with small English letters. A RARE and enchanting offering in proof, this specimen offers a good deal of lustrous brilliance across the surfaces and some speckled iridescence throughout. An important pedigree merely increases its allure that much more. For completeness, some very minor spotting is observed on the final digit of the AH date. Ex: Puddester Collection. Ex: Spink Numismatic Circular (2/1982) Lot # 776." This type was struck in 1830 and 1832, both dated AH 1246.
