Sincona sale 34, lot 4029

This specimen was lot 4029 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 2,400 CHF (about US$2,849 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand I. 1521-1564 Taler o. J. (1544/1563). Joachimsthal Münzmeister Rupprecht Puellacher. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1521-64, undated thaler of the Joachimsthal mint, mintmaster Rupprecht Puellacher. Rare, Good very fine.)"

Davenport notes that this thaler also comes dated, with dates ranging 1545-48.
