Sincona sale 39, lot 3800

This specimen was lot 3800 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$480 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand I. 1521-1564 Taler o. J. Wien Münzmeisterzeichen Stern. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1521-64, undated thaler, Vienna mint. Very fine.)"

This type is not dated but can be narrowed down to after 1548, when Ferdinand adopted a beard, and before 1558, the year that he was promoted to emperor.
