This specimen was lot 2641 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BIKANIR: Dungar Singh, 1872-1887, AR 1/4 rupee, Bikanir (VS1916/1859), in the name of Queen Victoria, F-VF, R, ex SARC Auction 18, Lot 1417." This type is alleged to be dual dated VS 1916 and 1859 AD but we don't see either on this example or the plate coin in the SCWC. Bikanir state was in the northern part of Rajputana and was mostly desert. Dungar's younger brother, Ganga Singh, ruled until 1942.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 2.8 g, silver, 14 mm diameter, this specimen 2.79 g.
