This specimen was lot 30798 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bern. Canton gold Duplone 1794 MS65 NGC, A bold, Gem example of this popular type with effulgent satin luster in the fields and very few marks. A gorgeous coin!" This type of 1794-95 is accompanied by a double duplone (Fr-181). A duplone was worth about two ducats.
