Sincona sale 102, lot 5096

This specimen was lot 5096 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 8,000 CHF (about US$12,058 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Dukat 1679, Bern. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Leicht gewellt. (Switzerland, city and canton of Bern, ducat of 1679, Bern mint. Very rare, Good Very Fine, Slightly wavy flan.)"

This rare type was accompanied by another ducat (Fr-127) and a double ducat (Fr-125), both even rarer than this issue.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
