This type was struck for circulation 1991-98 and replaced a similar coin struck in bronze 1970-90 and copper-plated steel in 1988. Altho a self-governing British colony, Bermuda is dominated economically by American tourists and the Bermudan dollar is pegged to the U. S. dollar.

Recorded mintage: 2,400,000.

Specification: copper-plated zinc, 2.5 g, 19 mm diameter.
