This type was struck for circulation 1986-98 and replaced a similar coin of 1970-85 which used the Machin bust of the queen. Altho a self-governing British colony, Bermuda is dominated economically by American tourists and the Bermudan dollar is pegged to the U. S. dollar.

Recorded mintage: 750,000 + 2,500 proofs.

Specification: copper-nickel, 2.45 g, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge.
