This specimen was lot 2369 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "BENGAL PRESIDENCY: AE 1/8 anna, Pulta, AH1195 year 22 (frozen). Prinsep series, struck 1780-1786, bold strike, very slightly double-struck on reverse, choice EF." These were struck by the British East India Company at the Bengal Presidency (Calcutta) in the name of the Mughal emperor. They were accompanied by 1/16, 1/4 and half annas, all struck with the same frozen date. Numerous varieties exist (KM 122, A122, 123). This specimen realized fourteen times the catalog value.
