This specimen was lot 42324 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELIZE. 100 Dollars, 1975-FM. PCGS PL-65 Gold Shield. A little hazy toning, being struck from 12 karat gold." This commemorative honored the thirtieth anniversary of the United Nations. It was the first hundred dollar coin struck for Belize, a denomination used extensively for commemoratives.
Recorded mintage: 100 (matte proof) + 2,028 (uncirculated) + 8,126 (proof), all Franklin mint.
Specification: 6.21 g, 0.500 fine gold, 0.10 troy oz AGW.
