Belgium 2000 5000 francs
This specimen was lot 1330 in Jean Elsen sale 144 (Brussels, March 2020), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,449 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert II (1993-2013), AV 5000 francs, 2000. Charles Quint. Tranche cannelée. 726 p. frappées. Rare. Flan poli. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 1993-2013, gold five thousand francs of 2000, Charles V, reeded edge, 726 pieces struck. Rare, Proof.)"
This type was accompanied by a silver 500 francs (KM 219). Charles V, tho remembered as king of Spain and Holy Roman Emperor, was born and raised in Belgium.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.50 troy oz AGW, 29 mm diameter. Some were issued with plain edge, others with a reeded edge.
