This specimen was lot 899 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €70 (about US$97 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold II (1865-1909), AR 1 franc, 1880. Cinquantenaire de l'indépendance. Patine irisée au droit. presque Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold II, 1865-1909, silver franc of 1880, 50th anniversary of independence. Rainbow toning on obverse, about Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1880 at the Brussels mint and accompanied commemorative two and five francs. It is not rare.
