This specimen was lot 892 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €110 (about US$146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold II (1865-1909), AR 2 francs, 1880. Cinquantenaire de l'indépendance. Petites taches. Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold II, 1865-1909, silver two francs of 1880, on the fiftieth anniversary of independence. Minor nicks, Extremely Fine.)"
This commemorative was accompanied by a one franc and five francs. It is scarce but not rare and this example realized half the catalog value.
