This specimen was lot 40593 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. 10 Centimes, 1863. Brussels Mint. Leopold I. NGC MS-66." This type of 1861-64 superseded the copper ten centimes that had been struck since independence in the 1830's. Copper-nickel as a coinage alloy matured and became very popular in the 1860's and drove out the last of the billon coinage.
