Jean Elsen sale 138, lot 853

This specimen was lot 853 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €420 (about US$583 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 10 centimes, 1833. BRAEMT F. avec point. Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper ten centimes of 1833, with dot on engraver's signature. Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1832-33, 1835, 1838, 1841, 1847-49 and 1855-56 and while readily available in worn condition, is quite scarce nice.

Recorded mintage: 994,000.
